Hardie Pacific’s South Korean monazite projects lead our portfolio in both grade and scale, with additional projects in New Zealand and Australia. This diversified portfolio strengthens our position across the Asia-Pacific and provides a platform to support the future global supply of rare earth elements.
Hardie Pacific’s interest in monazite began more than 15 years ago through work on the Paparoa Metamorphic Core Complex in conjunction with the New Zealand Institute of Geological and Nuclear Sciences (GNS). Recognising the significance of these mineral systems well before critical minerals became a global priority, the group has played a key role in advancing New Zealand’s critical minerals sector. Hardie Pacific technical work has informed governments, contributed to sector advocacy, and our Group director Duncan Hardie was selected to participate in international critical minerals discussions, including the Minerals Security Partnership (MSP) meeting in Washington, D.C in 2026.
We recognise that successful rare earth projects rely on more than the resource itself. Processing capability, transport infrastructure, market access and strategic positioning within global supply chains are all fundamental to a project’s success. This practical understanding has been developed over many years and provides the technical and commercial foundation that has established Hardie Pacific as a recognised Pacific leader in the critical minerals sector.
Successful rare earth projects require more than quantified inground deposits. They require processing capability, transport infrastructure and strategic positioning within global supply chains.
As governments and industries prioritise secure and transparent supply chains, new producers with strong geological foundations and strategic alignment are becoming increasingly important. Hardie Pacific’s regional footprint, combined with favourable geology and rising demand from advanced industries, positions its critical mineral assets within a broader global shift toward resilient, future-focused mineral supply.
