Gold

Conductive, durable and highly resistant to corrosion, gold is one of the world’s most important metals.

Hardie Pacific is advancing a portfolio of gold projects across New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Australia, spanning both hard rock and alluvial mineral deposits. Our focus includes hard rock deposits in Central Otago and Papua New Guinea, together with alluvial gold projects on New Zealand’s West Coast, where gold mining has shaped the region’s economy and identity for more than 150 years.

Grey Valley, NZ

The Grey Valley has a long and distinguished history of gold mining. From the early alluvial discoveries of the nineteenth century to the era of large bucket dredges, through to today with more than 100 individual alluvial gold mining operations. Its rivers, floodplains and mountains have yielded significant quantities of gold for more than 150 years, helping shape the communities and economy of the West Coast.

Hardie Pacific is committed to building on this legacy. Through the introduction of modern alluvial dredging technology, the company aims to recover gold efficiently while respecting the region’s rich mining history and supporting the communities that have been connected to it for generations.

Rather than simply revisiting the past, our objective is to help write the next chapter of responsible gold mining in the Grey Valley.

Modern Dredging

A new-generation alluvial gold dredge on the West Coast. Combining modern engineering with proven recovery methods, the dredge is intended to improve operational efficiency while unlocking value from historic alluvial deposits that were not fully recovered by earlier mining methods.

New technology advances enable modern dredging to work more effectively at depth.

Our Advantage

Hardie Pacific’s gold projects are located within historically productive mining districts where previous mining has demonstrated the presence of significant gold systems. Modern exploration, including advanced geophysics, targeted drilling and contemporary geological techniques, provides the opportunity to test new targets and extensions that were beyond the reach of earlier exploration.

Global Relevance

Gold continues to be one of the world’s most sought-after commodities, valued for its enduring role as both a store of wealth and an industrial metal. With projects across the established goldfields of New Zealand and the highly prospective mineral belts of Papua New Guinea, Hardie Pacific is building a portfolio of quality gold assets positioned for long-term development.
