Hardie Pacific is currently focused on two separate magnesium deposits in Southland, New Zealand. The region has a strong mining and mineral processing history, supported by low-cost hydro and wind power, a pro-mining local government and easy access to the modern Bluff deep water port.
Southland magnesium deposits extensive ultramafic rock formations covering approximately 665 km², hosts magnesium together with associated nickel, copper and chromium. These projects are well positioned to support the diversification of future magnesium supply.
